ปัจจุบันโรงเรียนในสังกัด กทม.มีมากกว่า 437 โรงเรียน (ในปีการศึกษา 2564) กระจายตัวอยู่ตามชุมชนต่าง ๆ ซึ่งจะเปิด-ปิดตามเวลาราชการเท่านั้น ในขณะที่พื้นที่โรงเรียนยังไม่ได้ใช้ศักยภาพอย่างเต็มที่ในวันหยุด 

ดังนั้นกทม.จึงจะเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพในการเป็นพื้นที่การเรียนรู้ของโรงเรียนให้กลายเป็นพื้นที่กิจกรรม พื้นที่แห่งการเรียนรู้ของชุมชนและคนในพื้นที่ โดยการพัฒนากิจกรรมในโรงเรียนสำหรับวันหยุดร่วมกันระหว่างโรงเรียน นักเรียน และชุมชน (เช่น การแข่งขันกีฬา การจัดการแสดงดนตรี การจัดตลาดนัด การจัดกิจกรรมฝึกอาชีพ) ให้สอดคล้องกับความสนใจของประชาชนในพื้นที่ 

ทั้งนี้การเปิดพื้นที่โรงเรียนจะดำเนินควบคู่ไปกับการรักษาความปลอดภัย เพื่อไม่ให้เกิดผลกระทบต่อนักเรียนและการเรียนการสอนในวันปกติ

Details

There are currently 437 schools under BMA jurisdiction (as of 2022). The schools are scattered in communities and open only during official working hours. The space of schools has not been used at its maximum capacity during holidays.

The BMA will maximize the use of school areas by turning them into activity and learning spaces for communities and local people. The BMA will also conduct activities with schools, students, and communities (such as sports, music performance, flea markets, and vocational training) according to the interest of the locals.

It should be noted that opening school spaces will be in parallel with security measures in order not to affect students and classroom activities during weekdays.
