ปัจจุบันหลักสูตรการเรียนการสอนมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงอยู่เสมอ เช่น การที่มีการเพิ่มวิชาวิทยาการคำนวณ (coding) เข้ามาอยู่ในหลักสูตรแกนกลางเมื่อปี 2560 หลักสูตรเหล่านี้จะมีการอบรมครูผู้สอนเพื่อให้มีความรู้ที่สามารถนำไปถ่ายทอดวิชาให้กับนักเรียนได้ อย่างไรก็ดีการฝึกอบรมอย่างเดียวอาจจะไม่เพียงพอสำหรับคุณครูในการทำความเข้าใจและออกแบบการสอนที่เหมาะสมกับตนเองและนักเรียนได้

ดังนั้น กทม.จะพัฒนาครูผู้เชี่ยวชาญต้นแบบในประเด็นต่างๆ เช่น วิชาวิทยาการคำนวณ (coding), วิชาภาษาต่างประเทศ ที่มีความเข้าใจเชิงลึกในเนื้อหาวิชาและเทคนิคในการสอน โดยอาศัยโครงการการร่วมมือกับสถาบันอุดมศึกษา โครงการครูแลกเปลี่ยนระหว่างครูไทยและครูต่างชาติ เพื่อให้ครูผู้เชี่ยวชาญเหล่านี้เวียนไปยังโรงเรียนต่างๆ หรือสอนผ่านออนไลน์ เป็นตัวอย่างให้ครูแต่ละโรงเรียนได้เรียนรู้ ทำความเข้าใจ และแลกเปลี่ยนแนวทางการเรียนการสอนกันเพื่อให้คุณครูแต่ละโรงเรียนสามารถพัฒนาแนวทางการเรียนการสอนที่เหมาะสมกับครูและนักเรียนได้ 

นอกจากการเพิ่มเติมผู้ช่วยทางด้านวิชาการแล้ว กทม. จะเพิ่มนักจิตวิทยาโรงเรียนเพื่อเวียนให้คำปรึกษาคุณครูและนักเรียนในโรงเรียนต่างๆ เพื่อคอยช่วยเหลือปัญหาทางด้านสุขภาพจิตและความเครียดที่เพิ่มขึ้น โดยเฉพาะในช่วงการระบาดของโควิด-19

The Curricula are constantly changing. For example, when coding was added to the core curriculum in 2017, training courses were organized to provide teachers with necessary knowledge. However, training alone might not be enough for teachers to understand how to teach and design their courses in accordance with their and their students’ competence.

BMA plans to develop skilled teachers in different fields, such as coding and foreign languages, who have in-depth understanding of the subject content and teaching techniques, through cooperation with higher education institutions and exchange programs between Thai and foreign teachers. These skilled teachers can then rotate to different schools or teach classes online. This can be a good example for teachers to have the opportunity learn, understand and exchange teaching and learning approaches so that they can further develop teaching methods that are suitable for themselves and their students.

In addition to these academic assistants, the BMA plans to add school psychologists to rotate to different schools, providing counselling to teachers and students and caring for their mental health problems and increased stress, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
