คนกรุงเทพฯ ได้อะไร

  - มีความมั่นใจในการใช้ระบบขนส่งสาธารณะอย่างรถเมล์มากยิ่งขึ้น ทั้งในแง่ความปลอดภัยและข้อมูล

กรุงเทพฯ มีป้ายรถเมล์ประมาณ 5,000 ป้าย แต่มีเพียงประมาณ 600 ป้ายเท่านั้นที่มีการพัฒนารูปแบบป้ายให้มีข้อมูลของรถเมล์ที่ผ่านป้ายนั้น ๆ ส่วนป้ายที่เหลือเป็นเพียงเสาเหล็กดัดโค้งและมีแผ่นเหล็กครึ่งวงกลมสีน้ำเงินที่ระบุว่า ‘ที่หยุดรถโดยสารประจำทาง หมวด 1’ พร้อมสัญลักษณ์รถเมล์เท่านั้น ข้อจำกัดด้านข้อมูลนี้อาจส่งผลให้ผู้ที่ประสงค์จะเดินทางด้วยรถเมล์ตัดสินใจเดินทางด้วยวิธีอื่นแทน

ในมิติความปลอดภัย ป้ายรถเมล์หลายป้ายขาดแสงส่องสว่าง ไม่มีการติดตั้งหลอดไฟ และหลายจุดตั้งอยู่ในจุดที่ค่อนข้างมืด 

นอกจากนี้ป้ายรถเมล์หลายป้ายยังมีสิ่งของบดบังทัศนวิสัย เช่น ต้นไม้ เสาไฟ เสาตอม่อ ตู้ชุมสาย ฯลฯ ทำให้เวลารอรถเมล์จะต้องขยับมาริมทางเท้าเพื่อที่จะทำให้เห็นชัดเจนที่สุด

ดังนั้น กทม.จะปรับปรุงป้ายรถเมล์ทั่วกรุง เพื่อส่งเสริมและเพิ่มโอกาสในการที่ประชาชนจะเลือกเดินทางด้วยรถเมล์ โดย

  1. ให้ข้อมูล

  1.1 สายรถเมล์ที่ผ่านป้ายนั้น ๆ

  1.2 ข้อมูลเส้นทางเดินรถแต่ละสาย 

  1.3 ข้อมูลจุดเชื่อมต่อ 

  1.4 ข้อมูลรถคันสุดท้าย

  1.5 พิจารณาการให้ข้อมูลแบบเรียลไทม์พร้อมการคาดการณ์เวลาที่รถเมล์จะมาถึงที่ป้ายรถเมล์ใหม่

  2. เพิ่มแสงสว่าง ทั้งที่ตัวป้ายเอง และบริเวณโดยรอบ

  3. ติดตั้ง CCTV เพื่อดูแลความปลอดภัย

  4. ปรับปรุงพื้นที่โดยรอบป้ายรถเมล์ให้สามารถสังเกตรถเมล์ที่จะเข้าป้ายได้อย่างสะดวก ไร้สิ่งขีดขวาง ไม่บดบังสายตา

  5. ออกแบบป้ายรถเมล์ให้มีรูปแบบที่หลากหลายเหมาะสมกับบริบทพื้นที่และขนาดทางเท้าที่แตกต่างกัน

  6. กำหนดรอบการดูแลและบำรุงรักษาป้ายรถเมล์ให้พร้อมใช้งานเสมอ

  7. พิจารณาการทำงานร่วมกับภาคประชาสังคมที่ผลักดันเรื่องรถเมล์และป้ายรถเมล์ให้มีส่วนร่วมในการพัฒนาป้ายรถเมล์นี้

Details

There are 5,000 bus stops across Bangkok, but only 600 of them are equipped with signs providing information on bus routes. The rest are installed with only a curve metal frame with a blue sign that read ‘Bus Stop Type 1’ with an illustration of a bus. This lack of information makes commuters reluctant to travel by bus, and instead choose other modes of transportation instead.

In terms of safety, most bus stops in Bangkok are underlit or even without any lightings, while some of them are situated in relatively dark spots.

Moreover, a lot of signs at bus stop are obstructed from view by trees, lamppost, PBX units, etc. As a result, commuters have to step forward, closer to the edge of the pavements to be able to see the signs.

The BMA will improve bus stops across Bangkok to promote the use of buses among its residents by:

  1. Providing information on

  1.1  Numbers of buses passing each particular stop

  1.2  Routes of each bus passing the stop

  1.3  Interchanging stops

  1.4  Possibly real-time locations of the bus and speculated time of arrival at the next stops

  2. Installing more lighting

  3. Installing CCTV cameras

  4. Improving areas around bus stops to make it more convenient for commuters to notice incoming buses without any obstruction
