หลายพื้นที่ของกรุงเทพฯ ตั้งอยู่บนพื้นที่ใกล้เคียงหรือต่ำกว่าระดับน้ำทะเล บ้างก็เป็นพื้นที่แหล่งที่อยู่อาศัยเก่าที่สร้างมานานอยู่ต่ำกว่าระดับถนนสายหลักหรือรองที่ยกขึ้นสูง ทำให้ได้รับผลกระทบในช่วงฤดูมรสุมที่มีปริมาณค่าเฉลี่ยน้ำฝนสูงจากฝนตกหนักและรุนแรงเฉียบพลัน

กทม.จะดำเนินการในพื้นที่ชุมชน หมู่บ้าน หรือถนน ตรอกซอกซอย ที่ประสบปัญหาพื้นที่ต่ำ แอ่งกระทะ ด้วยวิธีการยกระดับถนน หรือเพิ่มขนาดท่อระบายน้ำ

Details

Many areas of Bangkok are in areas that are close to or below sea level. Others are old residential areas lower than the level of raised main or secondary roads. They are strongly affected during the monsoon season with its high average rainfall due to heavy and severe rains.

BMA plans to operate in community areas, villages or along roads and alleys facing problems of  low-lying areas or pan basins through road elevation or increase of drainpipe size.
